The war in Sudan continues to devastate lives, displace millions, and destroy communities, yet it has largely faded from global headlines. What is unfolding is one of the world’s most severe humanitarian crises, and for many Sudanese both inside and outside the country, the pain of watching their homeland unravel continues every single day.
To help keep attention on Sudan and create space for awareness, dialogue, and solidarity, Fellesrådet for Afrika (The Norwegian Council for Africa), is once again collaborating with Sarya W. Medani, as well as FN‑Sambandet (The United Nations Association of Norway), to organize an awareness event in Trondheim. This time, we will be screening the powerful Sudanese-made film “Khartoum.” By centering Sudanese voices and storytelling, the film offers a deeply human perspective on a nation at war.
Five lives, one city, a nation at war. A civil servant, a tea lady, a resistance committee volunteer, and two street boys. Five stories from Sudan weave together in search of freedom through animated dreams, street revolutions, and a war that stretches from the metropolis of Khartoum to escape in East Africa.
This screening has free admission.
