After slaying the Arthurian legend and lampooning the Christ myth, the Pythons chose to return to their sketch comedy roots, hearkening back to their era-defining work on Monty Python’s Flying Circus, with their final feature, Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life.

Perhaps only the collective brilliance of the Pythons can handle a subject as weighty as humanity’s reason for being—Kierkegaard, Wittgenstein, and their ilk be damned! The Meaning of Life aims to explain everything one would conceivably need to know about the perplexities of our shared existence—from the mysteries of Catholic doctrine to the miracle of reproduction, from why one should avoid the salmon mousse to the critical importance of the machine that goes ping—and how fish fit into the grand scheme of things.
