The Power of Music – Two Films and a Conversation

Musikkens kraft- 2 filmer og en samtale 

Denne kvelden vises en langfilm, Hva snakker vi om når vi snakker om musikk? Av Mats Andersen, og  This Lemon Tastes of Apple av Hiwa K, en video som dokumenterer en performativ intervensjon av kunstneren i en demonstrasjon i Sulaimany, i den kurdiske regionen i Irak."

Det vil bli en pause mellom filmene, og etter kortfilmen, en panelsamtale om den omstridte kulturelle kraften til  musikken og kunst, med :

• Nora Bilalovic Kulset, instituttleder på institutt for musikk, NTNU
• Nabil Ahmed, professor, Kunstakademiet/ KIT, NTNU 

Tidspunkt: 18.30 – 21.30 

Kosmorama hadde What Are We Talking About When We Talk About Music?  på plakaten i vår, og filmen vises nå i et samarbeid mellom dem, NTNU, Mats Andersen/Rebel Unit, og Cinemateket. 

The Power of Music – Two Films and a Conversation

This evening features a full-length film, What Are We Talking About When We Talk About Music? by Mats Andersen, and This Lemon Tastes of Apple by Hiwa K, a video documenting a performative intervention by the artist into a civic protest in Sulaimany, in the Kurdish region of Iraq. 

There will be a break between the films, and after the short film, a panel discussion on the contested cultural power of music and art, with:

• Nora Bilalovic Kulset, Head of the Department of Music, NTNU

• Nabil Ahmed, Professor, Trondheim Academy of Fine Art

Kosmorama featured What Are We Talking About When We Talk About Music? on its program this spring, and it is now being shown in collaboration between them,  NTNU, Mats Andersen/Rebel Unit, and Cinemateket.
